In my 15 years in retailing, I have been very fortunate to have worked for the largest superstore chain in my state. I had the chance to work with some incredible and talented people, and a lot of highly competitive individuals. Our most memorable experience was taking a chain of small stores and turned that into a highly successful superstore chain with an annual turnover of over RM200 million.

It took total commitment and dedication from all of us to achieve this. While most of the original group of people have left the company, the bond remains. We will always remember the challenge of opening a superstore in a small town, where the basic amenities of comfort was sorely lacking. And of taking on all comers in the retail industry. My sincere thanks for the support and good times we had.

I have read a lot of books on business management, marketing and retailing. I applied a lot of what I read into my management principles. In recognition of all the authors who contributed so much to the business world, I would like to contribute my own experiences and ideas in retailing.
